Echolalia: Purposeful or Problematic?

If you serve students with ASD, then it is likely that you’ve come across some students exhibiting echolalia.  In today’s episode, I talk about what it is, how some children acquire language differently than others, and how that ties into whether or not we should be concerned when a student is demonstrating echolalia.  Research studies are reviewed and discussed to examine the “why” behind echolalia.  If you have a student or client and you’ve tried everything to minimize their echolalia, then you must listen to this episode!
